In Honor of Hilda
Hilda Sabadash, a dedicated friend and volunteer of Bereaved Families-Ottawa Region died on April 7,2026. But Hilda was far more than a dedicated volunteer. For many years, as someone once said, Hilda was BFO”. Beginning in the early nineties, Hilda was the program coordinator for BFO. Hilda was tireless in her work for the organization. She gave workshops, did training, and spoke about BFO to any organization that asked her for information. She was tireless in spreading the word about BFO and its peer support model. BFO often struggled financially. At one point Hilda worked with no salary because she believed passionately in the good work of BFO.
Her legacy will endure.
